My Son's Birthday

Yesterday was my son's birthday. He turned 8 years old. He had a view friends and family over.  This year it really snuck up on me. I just bought him his gifts about a month ago. He wanted the new Swap Force Skylander game for the Xbox 360. For those of you that don't know what Skylanders is, it's a game for Wii, Xbox, and other systems that has a portal that plug into the gaming system. Once you start the game you set whichever physical character onto the portal  you want to play and it recognizes it. It also saves the game level on the player itself, that way if you take it to a friends house, you can still play your character at your game level.  What's new this year is Swap Force characters.  You can swap the upper halves with the bottom halves and combine characters. This is the 3rd Skylanders addition, he has all three and close to 20 characters.

He also play a game on the PC called Animal Jams. It's a kids game where they play these little furry animals with other kids and do different things. His mother (she lives in SC) bought him a subscription for the game. He's been wanting a subscription for a long time and is really happy he has it now.

It's really hard to believe he's already 8 years old. It just seems like yesterday he was 3 and barely talking (That didn't last long.) He's come a long way from being born in Minot, North Dakota to being able to type, read, and do math. Of course he has his troubles here and there, but overall I couldn't ask for a more perfect kid.
